I was expecting a book that gives a results proven method for setting goals. This book just recycles cliches statements and prints quotes you've heard a million times. I don't think any real research or interviews with successful people was done for this book. It seems that anyone can self publish books today that would never make it past a true publishing house. This books is more about "follow your passion" without giving concrete evidence for what the successful mindsets are of the people we consider successful. A better book that tries to debunk the "follow your passion" approach is one titled "So Good They Can't Ignore You". The "follow your passion" statements (like this book), are of no real value. Real, focused work, and deliberate practice is what gets results. I was hoping this book would try and tackle the thought process of successful people who are putting in the deliberate practice. Instead, it is just the author's feeling on what that might be with no research to back it up. I was also hoping this book would give practical advice for setting goals. I should have read the small print subtitle that talks about looking at the quotes of others so you can think like a millionaire. There are better books than this. 1. Use positive words when talking. If you constantly say “I can not” you could convince yourself that it’s true. Replace negative words with positive ones. Tell yourself that you do everything possible to have a happy relationship, tell yourself that you do everything possible to have a brilliant career, tell yourself that you do everything possible to keep you in shape.
